Parmalee is a country music band from Parmele, North Carolina, formed in 2001. Parmalee took their name from their hometown, Parmele, North Carolina. When the band formed, they wanted something that reflected where they came from, so they simply adopted the town’s name—slightly adjusted in spelling—to make it more distinctive and memorable as a band name. The group consists of brothers Matt Thomas (lead vocals, guitar) and Scott Thomas (drums), their cousin Barry Knox (bass), and longtime friend Josh McSwain (guitar).

They spent years touring small venues and building a fanbase before breaking into the mainstream. Their big breakthrough came with the 2013 single “Carolina,” which became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Since then, Parmalee has released several albums and chart-topping songs, blending country with pop influences. Some of their other popular tracks include “Close Your Eyes,” “Already Callin’ You Mine,” and “Just the Way”. Catch Parmalee at Capital Region Amphitheater this Saturday, May 9th and have a taste of their music HERE
